The Practice

The way we live life is practice.

That’s the idea underneath everything here. Showing up, following the breath, and meeting what’s actually there. I’ve studied this on the mat, as a classically trained Pilates instructor and a 500-hour yoga teacher, and I practice it every day. The deepest thing I learned is also the simplest: there is nothing to add and nothing to fix. No beginning, no end — just be where you are, with this breath, this movement, this life.

I share this practice intentionally with my community here in Mount Rainier, Maryland, and with anyone who finds their way here.

01

Equipment practice

Reformer, tower, chair. Precise, supported work that teaches the body to move from its connective core. One person, one machine, my full attention.

The springs give you what the floor can’t: feedback. They hold you where you need holding and ask a little more where you’re ready for it. We start with the basics — footwork, breath, finding your center — and build from there at your pace.

This is where I bring people who are rebuilding after an injury, easing a stubborn back or hip, or simply curious how their body wants to move when it’s well supported.

One hour, one on one. Wear something you can move in.

02

Movement & breath

Mat work, asana, pranayama, pelvic floor and diaphragmatic breathing. We shape each session to what your body needs that day. Some days it’s Pilates-heavy with breath woven through; some days we begin in stillness and let movement come after.

Everything begins at the pelvis and the breath. When those two organize, the spine follows, and so do the hips, the shoulders, the knees. So we spend real time there — learning to breathe into the pelvic floor, to feel the diaphragm move, to let the body find its length without forcing it. Then we move, slowly and honestly.

You don’t need experience, flexibility, or the right clothes. Bring your body as it is.

One hour, on the mat. In the studio or on a call.

Sit and breathe

Meditation and breath work, plain and simple. Offered by donation, because sitting together shouldn’t have a price of admission.

We sit for a while, breathe, and notice what’s there. Some days I guide it; some days we sit in silence. There is nothing to get right and nothing to achieve — if your mind wanders, that is the practice. If you’ve never meditated, this is a gentle place to begin. If you’ve sat for years, come sit with me.

Give what feels right, or nothing at all.

Life practice

Coaching, though not the kind that tells you what to do. I don’t direct you, and I’m not above you or below you. I’m an environment — a steady place to hear yourself, feel into your own life, and let what’s next unfold. In person or virtual, wherever you are.

I’ve lived a working life in the outer world — consulting, endurance sport, business — and a parallel one in the inner. These conversations live where the two meet: a change of work, a season of grief, a decision you keep circling, a sense that something wants to shift.

We talk. We breathe. Sometimes we walk. You leave clearer — not because I told you something, but because you heard yourself.

An hour, in the studio or wherever you are.
